AGV Milk-Run for Mixed Assembly Lines

Placeholder case study: magnetic + LiDAR hybrid navigation, call-buttons at each cell, and a simple fleet dashboard. Replace with a live plant story when available.

AGV Milk-Run for Mixed Assembly Lines

Overview

This sample deployment shows how DevBrix Engineering would stage AGVs for a brownfield factory: marked routes where aisles are tight, LiDAR where traffic mixes with people, and a traffic manager that does not require a full WMS rewrite.

Highlights

  • Three-vehicle milk-run with cell call buttons
  • Hybrid tape + LiDAR navigation
  • Docking at kitting racks and line-side buffers
  • Manual takeover mode for peak shifts

Challenges

  • Narrow aisles and mixed forklift traffic.
  • Operators who will not wait for a full MES integration.
  • Need to add a fourth cell without reprogramming the whole map.

Solutions

  • Hybrid navigation with virtual keep-out zones.
  • Simple call/acknowledge HMI at each drop point.
  • Map zones that can be cloned when a new cell is added.

Features

  • Fleet traffic control
  • Line-side docking
  • Battery swap / auto-charge window

Key Results

  • Placeholder: replace with walks saved, kit delay, and uptime figures.
  • Pilot fleet sized so a fourth AGV can join without a layout redesign.

Navigation, docking, and call logic are delivered together with commissioning on site.

The fleet can grow from a three-vehicle pilot without tearing up the map.
